Guru Nanak  pronunciation (help·info)[1] (Punjabi: ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ; Hindi: गुरु नानक, Urdu: گرونانک, [ˈɡʊɾu ˈnɑnək] Gurū Nānak) (15 April 1469 – 22 September 1539)

All over Panjab , this day is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Nanak did not like Hinduism , dominated by Brahminism. He considered all castes equal. In Gurudwaras, people belonging to all religions are allowed.

When Muslims attacked them , Sikhs resisted them and was on the vanguard of the resistance movement.
