The Press Council of India has strongly condemned the media for becoming the hand maiden of vested interests. I quote:
“The phenomenon of paid news goes beyond the corruption of individual journalists and media companies. It has become pervasive, structure and highly organized, and in the process, is undermining democracy in India.”
The fear of a Dictator with a Telephone, expressed by Tolstoy, I think, has come true.
But the unexpected revolution in communication, in the form of the internet, has exposed the truth, though it is still a minority of literate people who are netizens.
I have been gagged by Pachauri, but I am able to reach you through the Blog.
